and they can get on with serious business, the day-to-day life of a

Poetry As Resistance- Z Magazine 10/2005 I often ask myself what can my poems do to stop the bombs and killings? I know this is the wrong question. Resistance is a river that we keep alive with our actions. It is not about one poem, one person, or one event against this madness; it is about adding to that river. Collectively something happens when people come together around poetry and thousands of other small moments we create together that keep this river of resistance flowing around the world.
My Body Tells My Story May /2005 I was asked by the local NOW chapter to write something for an evening of performances around the theme of "Body Image" that was held at Jitters Bar in Minneapolis, MN. Being in the thick of supporting my Mom through fighting ovarian cancer and a little tired of the "Body Image" theme I wrote this piece.

Thoughts on the 2004 election 11/2004 What keeps me going more than anything are my niece and nephew because they are here on the scene, they are four and I refuse to let these idiots (democrats + republicans!) destroy their future and the future of all the children I know and don't know. I want great great great great grandchildren to share this earth with polar bears and trees and throw all night dance parties in honor of their ancestors who didn't give up! And we will be dancing with them people...we will dance forever. It ain't over yet.
